GENERAL: Will the firmware be open source? Will you share documents of the firmware so that we can add or change the features?

We really appreciate the help and patience from the Kickstarter and open source community. You helped us learn and grow. Now it’s our turn to contribute. We decided to open source Snapmakerjs and firmware in November when the first batch of Snapmaker 2.0 is shipped. With a plugin system, API and tutorials, Snapmakerjs enables you to easily add new features for an existing module. You can even develop new features for your customized modules. We will build a truly modular system together.

Some of you suggested that we may be able to find a better solution for shipping rewards to EU backers. So far, we’ve compared a few solutions and find that it’s impossible to avoid/reduce the taxes when using a reliable shipping service. But we are eager to find a better solution if there is any. Looking forward to seeing your suggestions in the Comments page!

3D PRINTING: Can A350 print with ABS?

Yes.

Last updated: May 10, 2019 03:01

3D PRINTING: Why is the relationship of the maximum heated bed temperature of the three models: A350<A250<A150?

This limitation mainly results from the balance of high performance and affordability for all three models. The heated bed needs a large amount of power supply, especially for an extremely large heated bed. If the maximum heated bed temperature of A350 is designed to be 110°C, the power module will be very big, heavy and expensive. Therefore, after evaluating the pros and cons, we decided to use a most cost efficient solution. Moreover, this design ensures a more stable performance for the all three models.

Yes.

3D PRINTING: Will you provide an upgrade kit to allow A350 to achieve a higher bed temperature?

In theory, the bed of A350 can be heated up to over 80°C by modifying the PCB layout of the heated bed and using a higher power power module. However, this will cost a lot. Considering the A350 can print with quite a lot of popular filament with a maximum heated bed temperature of 80°C, we don’t think that this further modification is cost efficient.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
